The youth from the Nelson County Youth Mission came to the Pantry facility for the annual cleaning project.  They moved all of the food and pallets, swept and wet moped under everything, washed the windows, painted the nurse’s health screening room and if that wasn’t enough, they unloaded over 1,400 pounds of chicken and put in in the walk-in box.  Nelson County Youth MissionThe Nelson County Youth Mission includes youth and youth leaders from Calvary Baptist Church, Central Baptist Church, Living Word Christian Fellowship, Oak Hill Baptist Church, Piney River Baptist Church and Rose Union Baptist Church.

The NELSON YOUTH MISSION GROUP is a diverse and multi-denominational group of teenagers. They have been serving Nelson County since 2008.  Their mission is to serve the community as ministers for Jesus Christ as stated in ACTS 1:8.

For the last six summers, they have spent one week working together to show Christ’s love to others.  They have completed various service projects including serving the elderly with yard work, packing medical and other supplies at Advancing Native Missions, serving free meals to the community, working with the Nelson County Pantry, leading children in Vacation Bible School and much more.  It is their desire that even though they come from many churches, they are one body in Christ.
