In the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, there is a non-profit school called North Branch. The school is dedicated to cultivating future generations by encouraging respect, non-violence, environmental responsibility, through the involvement of students, teachers and families in the community. Children ages 3 – 14 gather on the 11 acre campus to grow through hands-on learning in an atmosphere that blends the teachings of the staff and nature. There are 15 classrooms, a large outdoor playground, a Nature Trail and many gardens maintained by teachers and students and fields and woods beyond to explore.
