Full with nearly 5,000 lbs. of produce, bakery and dairy items ready for Distribution

The harvest has not been good this year for  many Virginia farmers due to the drought, but you would not know that at the Nelson County Pantry.  We have been the recipient of  beautiful,  fresh produce from several very generous sources.   Cabbage, carrots, corn, cucumbers, onions, peaches, potatoes, squash and watermelons have been available for our clients.

Butter and cheese have recently been available from the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank and eggs from a local farm.   United Bank in Charlottesville donated some of the shelving units in the walk-in unit allowing us to take advantage of these items.

We are so grateful for the generosity of all our benefactors and the faithful volunteers who make this possible!!
